SMB Trust – Financially Empowering Charities

Established in 1962 by Sybil May Betts, a remarkable woman with deep Christian principles, The SMB Trust has been providing financial support to UK registered charities for more than 60 years. Following the guiding principles of the founder, the Trust continues to honour her charitable objectives by supporting Christian, and other charities with financial grants, quietly enabling others to bring hope and help where it is needed most.
As Trustees, we seek to continue the vision of our founder and stay true to her Christian principles of love, compassion and service.

What We Fund

The SMB Trust supports registered UK charities working in areas that reflect our values of faith, compassion, and public good. We currently focus our giving across six key areas:
  • Christian Faith – Projects that promote Christian values or ministry and the advancement of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Social Care – Supporting vulnerable individuals and communities in the UK and across the world.
  • Poverty Relief – Alleviating material hardship and economic disadvantage in all its forms.
  • Education & Medical Research – Advancing access to education or the conducting of ethical medical research.
  • Environmental & Wildlife Protection – Initiatives that promote environmental conservation and sustainability.
  • Emergency & Famine Aid – Responding to humanitarian crises with food, medical or other emergency relief.
